Interservice is an annual competition held by the Army, RN/RM and the RAF usually held on Rutland Water! This year though the needs of the few outweighed that of the many and we were all going to Grafham!
Purgatory, if for some reason and I can’t think why ( nobody ever went to hell for being grumpy surely) I don’t reach the pearly gates
It’s safe to say the Soldier Palmers were on a sticky wicket in regard to our standing in division one of the AMFC. A lack of availability and some less than decent results saw us firmly planted at the bottom of the league.
I don’t know where to start with this one so much material! I was supposed to fish the Pro-Am at Grafham, but a nagging pain in my shoulder saw that off.
Reports of the fishing at Grafham were good lots of fish and of a fantastic quality.
After what has to be the best May bank holiday weather ever my first day back at work was at Rutland water for a practice day for the AMFC.
The Spring AMFC is always a great event and you get to catch up with other anglers on the circuit after a long winter. Although it is a competitive fixture it’s a very friendly affair and the craik is usually spot on.
The AW is the premier six man team event for Loch Style comp anglers and as competition fly fishing begins to get smaller it’s more important than ever to support this event.
Where to start? Rutland can be the best water in the country and then again it is also the biggest leveller.
A trip to Rutland to shake out the loch style kit and blow away the cobwebs, just what the doctor ordered. My pal Alan could not make it due to car problems and Tim couldn’t get anyone to watch the dog.
